Project scope: detailed design + manufacture + installation
The prestigious Azerbaijan flame fountain sculpture stands over 30m tall and is a triple helix flame shaped monument constructed from over 60 tonnes of high grade polished stainless steel. The sculpture is the centrepiece of a public park situated in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan and located alongside the National Olympic Stadium.
The form of the sculpture is created by 3 tapering spiralling stainless steel legs which are equilateral triangular in cross section, tapering from 600mm triangular base length at the ground down to 50mm at the apex. The sculpture was detailed and designed in 14 No. vertical modules which were manufactured in the UK and then transported 3,000 miles by road to Baku before being erected by a UK installation team.
