Project scope : detailed design + manufacture + installation
It’s one of Manchester’s most important historic buildings, now Murrays’ Mill in Ancoats has been redeveloped into 124 modern residential apartments. The heritage of the industrial façade of the original historic building has been embraced by the installation of new balcony screens to each apartment including the use of solid cast aluminium panels.
Each balcony screen was detailed and designed with an assembly of four individual cast aluminium panels and impressively each panel was produced entirely from recycled aluminium cans, a total of over one million recycled aluminium cans being used to produce the 480 cast aluminium panels used on the project.
